In this module you will get an overview of the tools you may use in implementing your flipped classroom lesson plan. The resources will help you produce video lessons, start using digital quizzes, add interactivity to materials and facilitate engaging activities during and after class. 

02. Lesson planning resources

02.1. Pre-class activity

Based on the literature, authors have listed some best practices for pre-class learning materials.

As follows:

• Avoid redundancies and double-lecturing.
• Align learning objectives with learning materials.
  
• Provide specific direction or guide for pre-class assignments. 
• Be conscientious of the time it may take students to get through the pre-class materials.
• Include assessments within the pre-class learnings. 
• Begin each class with a highlight of key concepts from the pre-class material, as well as time for questions from students.
• Keep students accountable for the pre-class activities.
• Provide access to the pre-class learning materials in a timely manner.

2.2. In-class activity

Most popular in-class activities have the following characteristic:

• student-centered, 
• include discussion, 
• involve small group activities, 
• encourage feedback, 
• focus on problem-solving and group work. 

What they all have in common is the active learning experience students get. 

2.3. After class activity/Assessment

The effective learning process is something that requires time, therefore it is important for you to carefully think about what is something the students will need to do after class to continue learning or move forward to the next topic.
