- Subject: Processing Technologies of Polymer Materials 1
The main goal of the course is to familiarize the
students with processing technologies such as injection moulding,
extrusion, blow moulding and thermoforming; as well as preparation of the
material for processing and possible after treatments following the processing.
Online course targets the injection moulding part,
which is most challenging but also most important to acquire.
Main objective is to help students visualize
processing and let them learn the most challenging content at their own pace.
The course is carried out through one semester,
however the online course is shorter, focused only on the injection moulding
part.
- Flipped Classroom Approach:
I have prepared online course with 5 chapters. First
two chapters are background knowledge for students to learn prior to first
in-class activities and in third there is a content for them to bring with them
into the class. In first two chapters the content is presented visually via Eon
XR lesson, where they learn about the parts of the machine and in second there
is interactive video displaying the injection moulding cycle, which are two
things that are quite difficult to be visualised. The content to bring with
them are guidelines for dealing with the machine, which help them use the
machine independently. Fourth chapter is focused on defects that occur at
injection moulding. Last chapter is recap questionnaire that is mandatory to
pass for all students to have their lab work acknowledged.
- Pre-class learning activity:
- Eon XR lesson and
interactive video.
- Learn about the defects
that occur at injection moulding and find the defective parts
- In-class learning activity:
- Injection moulding, using the machine
independently and setting the processing parameters using guidelines
(chapter 3).
- Bring the parts to class, solve the defects
- After class learning activity:
Prepare the guidelines for troubleshooting of defects
that occur at injection moulding.
EON XR and its use in the lesson.
